The real record of this neighborhood isn’t in a museum. It’s in shoeboxes, albums, and hallway frames in houses across King County.
Elders in this network are holding photographs and history that most people have never seen. Block parties, church steps, storefronts that aren’t there anymore, kids on porches who have grandkids now. That material is theirs, and it stays theirs.
This page is where it goes when they say it’s time — scanned carefully, credited by name, and posted only with the permission of the people who own it and the people in it. That takes as long as it takes. Nobody’s memory gets rushed for a launch date.

The rap group out of the Central District. Members, years, releases, and photographs to come — supplied and cleared by family, and posted only then.
One rule
Nothing here will be fake.
Every image on the rest of this site is one of two things: original artwork made for this site, or a real photograph the founder took himself — aerials of Seattle and King County, shot from his own drone. Each is labeled as what it is. There are no AI-generated “old photos” of this neighborhood on King Versant and there never will be.
If it looks like a real photograph of the Central District, it will be a real photograph of the Central District, and it will say who took it and who’s in it. That’s the whole deal. Faking the memory would defeat the point of keeping it.
